Day 3
Quito Urban Bike Tour

So far, you’ve only seen a very small part of Quito – that’s why we’ll explore more parts of the city today! Take a bike tour through some of the Northern neighborhoods such as La Floresta, La Carolina and Iñaquito and visit these less-known and less touristy parts of the city. Feel, see and eat the culture that makes Quito special!

When you still have some energy left after the bike tour, hop for example on the cable car Teleferico that brings you up to Pichincha Volcano. Take a walk through the “páramo”, the typical Andean vegetation, and enjoy the view of the city and the surrounding mountains. Or, stay in the city center and enjoy a cup of coffee or canelazo (a typical hot drink made of naranjillas, also known as lulos) and have dinner in one of the many restaurants.

Leave the highlands today and head to one of Ecuador’s outdoor hotspots: Baños. After checking into your hotel, you can take a stroll through town or directly get ready for your next adventure. Rent bikes, leave the town and cycle along the “Avenue of Waterfalls”, following the Pastaza river through the valley of the same name. If you want to, you can stop along the way, take pictures of waterfalls and the lush green surroundings, and even try some ziplining! Your final stop is the small village of Rio Verde, where you will visit the famous “Pailón del Diablo” (The Devil’s Cauldron) waterfall.

Don’t worry, you don’t have to cycle all the way back to Baños; small trucks are waiting for you to bring you and your bikes back to the starting point.
